These are great tips on how keeping oneself motivated. Some of these tips also fit very well into the concept of chaining. It means that you try to make a series of time you made the change. If the series is interrupted you try to make a longer series the next time. It keeps you looking forward increasing your motivation instead of feeling guilty for not having enough discipline.

In the Time Management Master blog I collected 200 concrete time saving tips on how to gain an extra hour every day. It also includes a good number of articles on motivation.

Wow this is a terrific post! Humans have a habit of sabotaging themselves at times. As a personal trainer I notice that finding the motivation within is the hardest obstacle for most people, after that the rest is easy! Thanks for the great tips!

Thank you for this, wow. It is really what I need right now. I gained about 50lbs in two years and started somking, talk about being depressed. I used to run almost every day at least three to five miles each day, never smoked, and ate really healthy. Then after a divorce many years ago then some bad realtionships to follow, I just, well got depressed. I "survive" and dream about living. I have been thinking of ways to pull myself back together, and now thanks to you, I really will do it. Thank you so much.

A great post, I especially agree with writing down your reasons, and finding a picture that you can see hourly. It works wonders. Oh! and getting a coach or course! :)
