I knew Randy Pausch at Carnegie Mellon when I was a VRML designer. His class was in the same room as my class... and he would be in the computer lab waiting for our teacher Marta Lyle to end hers. He seemed very uptight... and I guess he took his job very very seriously. Those last lectures of his seem to be a very different Randy Pausch. He was a very hard core and angst ridden. I'm not blaming him, because CMU was kind of an uptight place, but he reflected it. One might even say he was a bit anti-social. It is interesting how facing death transforms a person's world view. It is peculiar for me to see the man who was outside our classroom and staring at his watch, now sharing such zeal in every last second of his existence.

He made me re-look at my life. "Find the best in everybody. Nobody is purely evil." ...and if they are leave it in God's hands. Just return love as life is too short. Thanks Randy.

This is such an inspiring lecture. One can only hope that it makes up some part of the great loss which his children must be feeling inside right now and in the years to come.
