Coming up with new money-making ideas and trying different ones can take time.  After a while, you will learn what it takes to start these new income sources and what might be profitable without even having to try it. 

A good example is selling products using Google AdWords or Ebay.  You will most likely lose money or break even at first.  After a while, you will discover what works and go with it.  The next time you have a product to sell, you will have a shorter learning curve based on your past experiences.

The bottom line is that learning takes time.  Most people are not willing to put in the time, so they fail.  The more free time you have, the quicker you will learn and the more income you can generate.
