My opinion of this topic relating to money and happiness does not necessitate the use of defining the acquisition of material in terms of a "hedonic treadmill", I would maintain that many people have to experience the temporary emotions of the pleasure that can often be derived from obtaining possessions. The experience of the journey is one of great thrill and excitement however one must learn from the experience that a river that is blocked with "stuff", will cease to flow and ultimately become stale and stagnant.
