How Better Health Leads to Better Time Management
Being in good health allows our body to operate at a higher level. This allows us to think more clearly and complete tasks faster. A good example is cleaning the house. If you are tired, you might procrastinate. When you do get around to it, it may take you twice as long than if you were in shape and had abundant energy. This extra energy is not only needed for physical chores, but activities requiring thinking as well. Not only does our body run more efficiently when we are healthy, but we are more efficient in completing daily tasks, whether mental or physical.
Another positive aspect of thinking more clearly is that we may analyze situations more and find ways to do things faster as an alternative to doing the same task in the same way we have always done before.
Take the example of multi-tasking while cleaning. If I know it takes 20 minutes to wash a load a laundry and 20 minutes to vacuum, then I could put the laundry in, vacuum, and the laundry will be done when the vacuuming is completed. A lot of us do this already, but many don’t take the time to think whether there is a better, more efficient way.
We may think we are being efficient, but there may be other ways to do tasks faster if we analyze what we are really doing, at work as well as at home. Time management is all about being efficient, and if our body is running efficiently it will help us throughout the entire day.
